Welcome to Using NVDA
If you found this site you probably already know that NVDA is a screen reader that was created to be free and open source. Its primary web presence can be found at: NV Access. This page has been created for those learning to use NVDA to provide not just the keystrokes, which you can find in a number of places online, but to present more information, tips and examples. There is a link to a Contact Sue page if you have tried something and you need more information.
A couple of special notes. First, this site is not affiliated with NVACCESS.ORG, however it strongly supports the work that they have done. Please go to their site and make a donation so that development and maintenance can remain strong. Another thing is that I've found that many NVDA users previously used other screen readers or started with screen magnification with speech and have moved to NVDA. As appropriate here you will find comments about making transitions such as this that should help you move forward with learning as much as you need to be as independent as you want when reading and interacting with webpages.
New To Using a Computer?
This site was conceived of for somewhat experienced computer users who either now need to use a screen reader or are considering using NVDA instead of the screen reading software they are already using. In the future I may add more for newbies, but for now, click here to get a bit of an introduction.

Considering the Switch From Another Screen Reader to Using NVDA?
Click here if you are an experienced screen reader user (or even screen magnification/reader user) and you are considering switching to Using NVDA. Since this site isn't here to sell you anything it is an objective place to present pros and cons.
